In all of my 3 years chatting on MSN I've come to realise that the Helpdesk isnt exactly the most helpful of places. The Guides can be inept and often dont answer your questions, however earlier tonight I went to see if anything could be done about a recurring problem regarding room limits. There is a bug in MSN which stops people entering rooms sometimes because of it being "full", even when it's far from it's limit. However, tonight the Guide seemed very willing to help and look into the problem. He told me he'd have a technician look into a problem, and 5 minutes later Admin_Koach entered and had a little chat with me about this problem. He'd disregarded the fact that 4 out of 5 of the chatters (including me) were using a script and treated us with respect
I'd just like to say a big thank you to him and MSN's other staff. It goes to show that they are willing to help sometimes, even if we are using "illegal" clients to connect. Koach, if you read this..
Thank You!
Word, Koach tends to stick to his own forums (specifically the one for his Pirch workshop). You would be best to post a thank you to him there... alternatively, I've been a member of his group for a few years now, and would be willing to pass along your thanks if you put it into writing. 😉
Gotcha 😀
I'll PM you a short message later on, to pass on to him.

It took you 3 years to realise the Help Desk isnt helpful ??? Geez Mike you had it good then, I think most ppl found out about 2 seconds into their first visits there. 😛
Well, the Helpdesk isn't too terrible. Sometimes they have the most dense people working at the time and other times they have people who actually care but tend to stick to their macros without prevailance. It all depends on how you're doing that day; as if you're going to get a good response or not. Koach does try to fix things from time to time, but he's a laid back guy as far as I've noticed when I've spoken to him and 'battled' him in the past. Big heart, Big brain, you know the types. At least they didn't send someone less well-known into the room when you told them that you were having a problem with the bug. Just find it funny that they did so even though you're not technically a subscriber. Shhh huh? 😀 :wink2:
Pashy, you read it wrong, I've always known 😉
David, shush lol - I cant connect anymore anyways for some unknown reason. No errors, it just hangs (not crashed, though). Maybe it's just one of those days!
well i-desk is a shocker ! i reckon i would know more about assisting chatters than those tools. thats a huge statement too ! lol
I-desk is actually better, less line up time and every sysop would listen to you and you could even talk to them about recreational stuff too.
Whereas most Helpdesk Sysops/Guides/Admins were usually up them selves and had like a minute to answer your question.
pashing... can I ask what is gives you the impression that i-desk is just a bunch of tools?
i-desk is great, it's probably the only place you can talk to MSN staff who care about what's happening.
Big up to the i-desk crew 😉
Kewl.....
Maybe I should join I-desk :eureka:
damn...sorry night, i didnt read this thread again and missed your question.
i based that comment on my own dealings with i-desk and the stories of dealings from chatters i know.
help was never easy to get at all. and when you asked a question the help desk couldnt help with you with you were shot down.
i found going to puter geek rooms much better as far as help went.
*Answers like "I'm sorry, we can't help you with that."
