This area hasn't been very active lately, so I figured I would bring it some new blood... so pull up a chair and read very carefully.
NOTE NO NAMES WERE USED IN THIS POST - IF YOU FEEL THE RANT IS DIRECTED TOWARDS YOU, DON'T WASTE MY TIME IM'ING ME TO ASK... INSTEAD, TRY TAKING IT AS A HINT AND RE-EVALUATE YOURSELF... BECAUSE IF YOU THINK IT'S ABOUT YOU, YOU'RE OBVIOUSLY SUFFERING FROM SOME PATHETIC "I'M A VICTIM" DISORDER, AND NEED PROFESSIONAL HELP.
Want to know one thing that really... and I mean REALLY... not just a little, but really truly pisses me off and is one sure-fire way to get yourself onto my "you're lower than dirt and chew on shit for better breath" list? Pay real close attention... ready for it?
Accuse me of shit without first verifying your data, then going far enough to LIE to me about your source, as if I won't take the 15 fucking seconds out of my busy life to talk to the source myself. Misunderstanding what your so-called source says is one thing, and would be acceptable if used in proper context and lightly... but it's another thing to use the "so-andso said THIS" when I know full god Damn well he did not, and my knowledge is further backed by his very own statements later when he gets the opportunity to read the complete history.
Something else that pisses me off... when someone is given specific info about an event, right down to the day and time that it took place, and still can't figure out how to find the info they need, so instead continue to accuse me witout bothering to... oh, I dunno, perhaps GET OFF THEIR FAT ASS AND FIND THE DATA THEMSELVES??? I have better, more important things to do with my time than sit and have accusations made by someone acting like a child. Yes, babies need someone to wipe their asses for them, but don't you think that when a person reaches adulthood, they might be able to do something for themselves?
I somtimes wish the accusations were correct, you know. At least then the whiner making the accusations would shut the fuck up and leave me alone... but instead, it's something new all the time, and all without fact, proof, or even logic.
So, to the next exceedingly-dense obsessive compulsive putz who so choses to accuse me of some stupid internet bullshit... verify your fucking facts, or shut the fuck up. There's already enough brain-dead morons out there... stop trying to add to the fucking count. And to the one that brought on this rant... seek therapy for your lying disorder and your "I'm a victim" complex. Most of the world doesn't care that you even exist, so why the fuck would we care that someone doesn't like you? Suck it up and get over it.
I'm pretty sure that there is at least one person out there with enough of a complex that they think this is directed to them, so let me close the message with this statement:
Don't bother coming back to my network until you've managed to figure out how the fuck to appologize for being an obtuse moron. 
That's simply how the entire internet has been since there have been incompetant idiots flooding it [ex: see AOL]. No matter how often you waste your time with these people, they still never learn anything from it. Instead, you're just dubbed as one of those people that they can go to and talk about behind their backs. I think it'd take a lot of nerves to double guess someone's logs; then beg for an exact time/date. They should have their own logs if they feel as though there may be something to extract from them later on.
Majority of the time, what'll happen is that people [explained the type above] will just flat out attempt to manipulate the situation in their favor one way or another. Which, this will just cause their image in the eyes of their manipulatee to be zilch. It'd just be easier to just go to the source anyways; that's how it's always been.

It's kind of frightening. You give the day, the time, the room, and a list of the people that were in the room laughing at the link... everything they need to find what they want... would that be enough? One would think so, wouldn't they...? Nope... apparently not.
I stand firm: IQ Examination Requirements before they'll let you hook into anything more powerful than a 9600 baud... at least then it would be unlikely to see them in anything not BBS-related.

Oh, nothing against BBS. It's the morons that discover that the real internet is just too much for them that bother me.
When they need something, they try to treat you like a best friend. But then when you don't want to bend over backwards and kiss your own ass for them, they act like you haven't done shit for them ever and don't deserve to even be on the same planet.
But seriously David... think back to the BBS (and now Usenet). How much intelligence do you really come across? There was maybe 10 people who could spell their own name with proper punctuation, to every 1000 that couldn't handle a word with more than 3 letters, or a sentance consisting of more than 5 words.
Those 10 went on to become decent programers and the Gurus of the Internet. The remaining 1000 became what we stumble across all the time now... AOL users and AOL-wannabes.
Yeah, that's just how the internet [or what we may consider the Internet] has always been. BBS' back in the time, there were a few that knew what they were doing and others that didn't know how to even think straight; let alone type straight. Some of the BBS' I explored in my younger years [*coughs*], I met a few intelligent people. Some of which taught me the foundation to what all I know now. While others, you could barely understand them [either elitism or just simple stupidity]. AOL is the essence of said barrier between people; they simply make the user do nothing but go to whatever websites that their 'buddies' gave them.
As for sucking up, I don't think anyone's not quite familar with that feeling or situation. When you have intellect and people want it from you, they use you for their own purpose and then they're done with you. This is what I call [and used to call myself for sometime] a 'knowledge w***'. Intellect is either good or bad. And majority of the times, it's both. Hiding away from people so they can't bother you helps too =]

maybe this topic blends well with the hate one but don't you just hate when people take a good chunk of your time as a favor then later bash them for it. or how even at 5 in the morning barely awake someone has a problem with their forum and this person is willing to fix it even though he rather say fuck off.....

Of course it can, Ruff. Particularly when the few who can't handle the internet drag their own delusions along with them, then try to infect others with their version of reality. They live in a world of *trying* to make themselves seem more intelligent, more glamorous, more everything than anyone else. They need to have attention drawn to them, and when they don't get their own way, it's everyone else's fault and they become the victim, going back to the start of NightStorm's topic. Ah the stuff of BBS soap operas, and over the years I've seen some good ones, and the lack of intelligence out there is truly scary at times.
When these wannabes realize that no one is buying their perception of reality, they stoop to innuendos, drawing from their idea of what is happening in their little world, ignoring what is the truth; they then try to envelope themselves deeper in the drama of the internet, hoping that they will become admired like those few who actually accomplish good things on the internet with real ability.
They fail to realize that these accomplishments are rooted in true talent, by people with a firm grasp on reality and a clear set of goals laid out before them, instead of clinging onto any kind of attention they can get by portraying themselves as a myriad of selves and not realizing that those whom said person is trying to emulate truly think of them, and it's not usually admiration.
It is hard to have respect for anyone (i.e. the AOL wannabe) who is nothing more than a user of whatever the "doers" can offer them instead of doing as the real internet users did, and educate themselves and drop the petty behaviour and drama. Then again, that is how they thrive; they ridicule, push aside, and take credit for others' talents all to make themselves look better, even while, as David said, to be nothing more than a net wh***.
Once in a long while, someone manages to step into the light and really make something of themselves but others fail to see the light and continue to cling onto their delusions like a security blanket, using people to whatever purpose they can and ridiculing the efforts of others, until those efforts become beneficial to their own purpose, which works well until the next drama episode and then once again everyone is untrustworthy except those on the same delusionalistic plane of perception as the wannabe.
